Travel Theme: WALLS
Walls evoke a feeling of security in all of us. It is familiar. It’s what we see every day. At the same time, walls leave us at awe whenever something in it surprises us.
The following are my photos for this week’s theme.

A heaven for art enthusiasts, 798 Art Zone boasts of beautiful outdoor art. Here’s a wall full of contemporary art work.

Bangkok’s Grand Palace Mural
I was still in college when I visited Bangkok, but the place surely amazed me. From architecture to art, the Grand Palace was stunning. This was a portion of a wall of a corridor on the way to another part of the palace.

Angkor Wat’s Relief Sculpture
This was the first place that I ever got to see relief sculptures in walls. These depicted stories (yet I have no idea what they were). I just knew that because I saw some guides telling the tourists what these were about. 😛
Yogyakarta’s Borobudur
When climbing Borobudur, you’ll see a lot of relief sculptures. The photos below were taken from the low to middle sections of the structure, depicting the earthly life of human beings.

how cool that a palace has a mural like that one…very modern
I think that some of them have been restored, but to think that they did those designs centuries ago was simply mind-boggling! 🙂
